Saskatchewan’s egg industry is healthy, innovative and expanding.

A GROWING INDUSTRY: Between 2013 and 2023, Saskatchewan’s regulated egg farms produced 48% more eggs.

INVESTING IN VALUE-ADDED INNOVATION: Saskatchewan’s egg farmers have consistently pooled resources over the last decade to found and grow a company called Evova Foods. Evova has a mandate to research, develop, manufacture and export delicious, better-for-you snack products that incorporate the natural goodness of eggs. The goal of this work is to make the case for expanded value-added processing capacity in our province, helping to build a stronger egg industry and broader food sector here for the long term. We are excited to see that vision becoming a reality.

GROWING SASKATCHEWAN’S EXPORTS: Evova’s flagship product, Egg-cellent Protein Puffs, are crafted in Saskatoon, and sold throughout Canada and the United States, with exports to Dubai, and other export arrangements in the works as well.

ADDING NEW EGG FARMS: Because our egg industry is growing, we’re excited to be adding two new egg farms through our 2024 New Entrant Program, which provides low-cost egg quota to newcomers to our industry. These new farms will join 74 registered egg quota holders in Saskatchewan, delivering a consistent supply of fresh, local, affordable eggs, and held to the highest standards of animal care, food safety, and environmental sustainability
